As the road to the 2018 Asia Cup gets closer, the six associate teams in Hong Kong, Nepal, Oman, Singapore, United Arab Emirates and hosts Malaysia, will battle it out for the right to make it to the main event starting September, 15th. The top two sides will qualify for the Asia Cup 2018.

In the first match of the Asia Cup 2018 Qualifiers, hosts Malaysia will take on Hong Kong at the picturesque Kinrara Academy Oval in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday.
The last time both these sides met was way back in 2014 in an Asian Cricket Council Premier League which Hong Kong won by two wickets. Hong Kong has a hundred per cent record over hosts Malaysia with three wins in as many games.
Hong Kong will lead by Babar Hayat (760 runs in 20 games at an average of 42.22) and in Anshuman Rath (batting average of 42), Nizakat Khan (Bowling all-rounder, 4 wickets and 570 runs), they boast of a formidable line-up to upstage hosts Malaysia, who will be led by Ahmad Faiz.
