The 38th match of the IPL 2021 is taking place between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi. Both the teams are placed in comfortable positions at the points table and a win would take the MS Dhoni-led side to the top of the table and the Eoin Morgan-led side at the third place. It remains to be seen who will have the last laugh in today’s encounter.
Faf du Plessis takes a blinder at the boundary to send Eoin Morgan back in the hut
Opting to bat first, the Eoin Morgan-led side had a shaky start as they lost Shubman Gill, who was looking in good touch, in the very first over courtesy of a brilliant run-out by Ambati Rayudu.

Kolkata Knight Riders then were looking in a spot of bother after they lost other opener inside the mandatory six-over power play. Eoin Morgan and Rahul Tripathi tried to steady the ship and just when the KKR skipper started to look aggressive, Faf du Plessis’ brilliance at the boundary ropes cut short his innings for just 8 runs.
During the 10th over of the innings Eoin Morgan tried to hit Josh Hazelwood for the six in the long-on area and it almost seemed that batsman managed to clear the ropes but Du Plessis was once again at his best as he pouched the ball and just when he was about to overhaul the boundary, he showed great awareness and lobbed the ball up, and then catches it in the second attempt.

CSK vs KKR Live: Rahul Tripathi falls after a valiant 45 runs
Batting at No.3 Rahul Tripathi came early to the crease and held the one end while wickets kept tumbling at the other. The right-handed batsman took CSK bowlers to the cleaners and made sure that his team keep scoring runs at a faster rate.
Just when Tripathi was eyeing his second half-century of the second leg, Ravindra Jadeja uprooted his stumps to send him back in the dressing room for 45 runs. The right-handed batsman tried to reverse-hit the bowler but only managed to miss the ball, which dislodged the off stump.
