IND vs ENG, 5th Test: In a massive breaking news, another Covid scare has hit the Indian camp ahead of the 5th Test against England as one of the support staff member has tested positive for Covid-19 in Manchester. The Virat Kohli-led team took a 2-1 lead in the five-match Test series after securing a memorable 157-run victory at the Oval in the fourth Test match.
COVID Scare in the India Camp Ahead of 5th Test?
According to recent sources, India’s junior physio Yogesh Parmar has tested positive for coronavirus on Thursday (9 September) after which the scheduled practice session on the eve of the fifth and final Test match at the Old Trafford in Manchester was cancelled.
Earlier, during the fourth Test at the Oval, Indian team head coach Ravi Shastri alongwith bowling coach Bharat Arun and fielding coach R Sridhar tested positive for COVID-19 and all the three members alongside physio Nitin Patel were immediately isolated from the rest of the contingent. They haven’t even travelled with the rest of the team to Manchester. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is yet to provide an official update on the fresh covid scare in the Indian camp.
“The way we see it, there’s no choice but to call off the Test series. It’s got to be a collective decision. Until everybody is on the same page, we can’t say much,” said a source close to the BCCI.

IND vs ENG, 5th Test
As per the latest media reports, all the members of the Indian squad have been asked to stay back in their hotel room until further notice. The upcoming 5th Test match between England and India surely seems to be in danger as the situation currently isn’t clear as whether any of the players are close contacts of the Covid positive support staff member or not. According to the present Covid laws in UK, any person who has tested positive for COVID-19 has to stay under isolation for a minimum of 10 days.

While talking about the final Test match, England have made two changes to their squad with Jos Buttler and Jack Leach making their returns. England skipper Joe Root has also confirmed that wicket-keeper batsman and vice-captain Jos Buttler will straightaway walk into the playing XI for the fifth Test against India.
