Jhulan Goswami calls it a day from T20Is

Indian veteran pacer Jhulan Goswami has announced her retirement from the T20I format. The Board of Control for Cricket in India confirmed in a press release that the legendary player has decided to call it quits from T20I cricket.

Her retirement comes ahead of the ICC Women’s World T20 2018 which is slated to kickstart in the Caribbean in November this year.

Goswami has represented the nation in 68 matches in the shortest format where she has picked 56 wickets. It includes a five-wicket haul against Australia in 2012.

BCCI stated in its release that the 37-year old expressed her gratitude to the board and her teammates who supported her. She also wished her team luck going forward.

Jhulan Goswami has played 10 Tests and 169 One Day Internationals and she is the leading wicket-taker in the women’s limited overs format. She is also the first woman cricketer to pick 200 wickets.
