The Caribbean Premier League 2021 is still in its nascent stages, and we have already witnessed some mouth-watering action. The tournament features some of the biggest stars in T20 cricketers in the world. But none come bigger than the Universe Boss himself, Chris Gayle. He earlier played for the Jamaica Tallawahs but now can be seen wearing the colors of St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. He is back with a bang after missing out last year.
Chris Gayle breaks Window with a Mighty Hit
The Patriots took on the Barbados Royals in the second match of the tournament. They chose to bat. Gayle walked in to bat at no.3 in the third over. He had a short stay in the crease, scoring 12 runs off nine balls. But the crowd did manage to see a trademark six of his willow.

Gayle hit a stunning six down the ground off Jason Holder in the fifth over. The ball went like an arrow and smashed a window above the sightscreen. We hope the giant never retires and keeps smashing the windows and records. Watch the video here:

Guyana Amazon Warriors and Trinbago Knight Riders kicked things off in the opening clash. The Warriors posted 142 courtesy a half-century from Shimron Hetmeyer. Sunil Narine and fellow spinner Akeal Hosein were the pick of the bowlers. In reply, the Knight Riders surprisingly fell short by nine runs despite their batsmen getting to good starts. Romario Shepherd picked up three wickets while Imran Tahir took two, giving away just 12 runs.

The second game saw St Kitts and Nevis Patriots lock horns with Barbados Royals. Although they were struggling at 39-4 in the seventh over, Sherfane Rutherford and Dwayne Bravo lifted the Patriots to 175. Oshane Thomas’ fiery opening spell helped him land three wickets. In response, the Royals only managed 154. None of their batters could provide the impetus required. Sheldon Cottrell and Dominic Drakes finished with two wickets each.
