ENG vs IND, 2nd Test Live Score India 181/6 at Stumps on Day 4: Visitors lead England by 154 runs

The ongoing second Test match between England and India at Lord’s cricket ground is piquantly poised. While English bowlers rattled Indian top order in the first session of Day 4, the visitors fought valiantly in the post-lunch session and made sure no further damage was done to Team India.

In the final session of the day, the Virat Kohli-led side had better of the hosts in the first hour as the duo of Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane stood tall to take India into a comfortable position. However, Moeen Ali turned the tables around in the final hour of the play and put visitors under pressure.

Team India take a lead of 154 runs 

After Team India suffered early blows on Day 4, Ajinkya Rahane along with Cheteshwar Pujara steadied the visitors’ ship and bailed India out of trouble. The duo put up a gritty century-stand and showed great composure to help Virat Kohli-led side to take a lead of more than 100 runs.

However, Cheteshwar Pujara failed to convert his start into the big innings as he couldn’t keep the delivery from Mark Wood down and ended up giving an easy catch to Joe Root at second slip for 45. The wicket of right-handed batsman brought Rishabh Pant to the crease and just when things started to look settled Moeen Ali struck for England and removed Indian vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane.

Things got even worse for India when Moeen Ali bowled Ravindra Jadeja with a peach of a delivery for only 3 runs. At Stumps on Day 4 the visitors are 154 runs ahead and are 181/6 with Rishabh Pant and Ishant Sharma at the crease on 14* and 4* respectively.

ENG vs IND Live: Ajinkya Rahane departs after valiant 61 

Indian vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane played a vital knock of 61 runs in the second essay of the Indian innings. The right-handed batsman came when Virat Kohli-led side was tumbling at 55/3 and along with Cheteshwar Pujara bailed visitors out of the trouble and helped his team take a lead of more than 100 runs. However, he ended his fantastic knock on a poor note as he poked a slider from Moeen Ali in a lame manner to edge it to the keeper.
