After being dominated on the first day of the second Test match, the Joe Root-led side staged a comeback on Day 2 and bundled out Team India for 364 runs. England openers on the other hand negotiated the tricky phase by being very watchful and remained unbeaten at Tea.

England Cricket team displayed dominant bowling performance on the second day of the second Test match at Lord’s cricket ground. Resuming the day on an overnight score of 276/3, Team India batters struggled to tackle the English pacers and lost the remaining 7 wickets for just 88 runs. James Anderson yet again proved his mettle and outclasses Indian batsmen with a fifer. The talismanic pacer took his 31st Test fifer and returning with the figures of 5/62.

When Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja were batting it seemed like, the visitors would get past 400 easily, and maybe even 450 but England made a decent comeback and wrapped up the Indian tail quickly to bowl out the Virat Kohli-led side for 364 runs after a dominant display of batting on the Day 1.

ENG vs IND live: England negotiate the tricky phase with bat
Chasing India’s total of 364 runs, England openers Rory Burns and Dom Sibley were watchful and at the same time punished bad balls as well. Even though the duo were little fidgety and were tested against the swing bowling but they did well to hang in and negotiate the tricky phase to remained unbeaten at the tea. The Indian bowlers were spot on with their line and lengths and managed to find edges but the pace on the wicket has allowed the balls to die down and as a result the catches fell short of slips. Both the openers are batting at 11 runs each and took England into the tea at 23 for no loss. The Joe Root-led side are trailing India by 341 runs.
