The Indian test team have been busy playing against County XI in the warmup-match ahead of the England test series. The batsmen like Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane are not been a part of the warmup match due to the injury concerns. The loss in the WTC Final have certainly put a setback on the confidence of the players but would look to start afresh a new WTC cycle starting August 4 in Trent Bridge. It will all depend on the bowlers like Mohammad Shami and Ashwin to explore the conditions and surface well and win matches for the team.

Washington Sundar ruled out of ENG vs IND Test Series
The bowling all-rounder Washington Sundar who helped the team to register series win in the Australia test series earlier this year has been ruled out of the test series due to finger injury. The fast bowler Avesh Khan has also been ruled out of the series due to the same issue.
Both were in the County XI team that have been playing against Indian team, due to the inability of ECB to put up 11 players for the warmup match. Sundar didn’t get to bowl in the match and was dismissed on 1 by Siraj, while Avesh Khan bowled 10 overs and could not pick any wicket.

The 24 member squad is now trimmed down to 21, with Sundar, Avesh, and Gill ruled out of injury. The BCCI did not announce replacements for Shubman Gill, but addition of two more players in the injury list, will certainly have an effect on the team management.
