AUS Playing 11: Australia will face West Indies in the start of the ODI series here at Barbados. After losing the T20I series, Australia will look to start this series on a high. With World Cup Super League points up for grabs, they will look to grab some important points here. The visitors are here without some important players like Steve Smith, David Warner and Glenn Maxwell. This will be a chance for them to show their squad depth. Australia leads the head-to-head record over West Indies in ODIs 74-60.
Team News
- Aaron Finch has been ruled out of the first ODI due to knee injury. Alex Carey has been appointed captain for this match.
- Ben McDermott and Ashton Agar picked up minor injuries during the T20I series but are likely to be fit.

With Finch ruled out of this match, the onus will be on Matthew Wade who could be playing his first ODI in four years. The middle order looks inexperienced but it gives a good opportunity for Ben McDermott and Moises Henriques to make a mark here. Mitchell Marsh will be looking to continue his fine form in the ODIs too. Starc and Hazlewood are likely to take the new ball while Adam Zampa will play the role of specialist spinner.
