IRE Playing 11: After leveling the ODI series, Ireland will now take on South Africa in the first T20I here at Dublin (Malahide). The hosts were excellent throughout the ODIs and gave South Africa a tough time. Though they couldn’t win the series but a draw over a cricketing superpower would have raised their confidence. Now they would look to take that confidence into the game’s shortest format. This will be the first ever T20I to be played between these two sides.
Team News
- Ireland have some new faces for the T20Is like William McClintock and legspinner Benjamin White.
- With ICC World T20 approaching, Benjamin White might be given a debut here.
- Kevin O’Brien is likely to open along with Paul Stirling.
- Neil Rock was tested positive before the ODIs and was replaced by Stephen Doheny.
