The overcast conditions with dark clouds are a blessing to the pace bowlers in search of a quick wicket. These type of situation is often visible in countries like England and New Zealand. Their pace bowlers are quite accustomed to these conditions and they name their Playing XI according to their best combination. For example, in the WTC Final, the New Zealand team who plays at swing friendly conditions in their home soil are playing with 5 seam bowlers and got a good result by dismissing India for 217. In return, the Indian team who are playing with 2 spinners and 3 fast bowlers could not quite induce enough wickets till the end of Day 3.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar trends on Twitter
On the Twitter platform, the Indian fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar was trending due to inability of the 3 pacers, Shami, Bumrah, and Ishant to pick wickets off the surface in WTC Final. It is well known that Bhuvi has less pace but has incredible ability to swing/ reverse swing the ball in friendly conditions. Many said Ishant and Bumrah are seam bowlers, but Bhuvi will get more purchase from the surface due to his natural swing over years.
These were the tweets made by the Indian cricket teams fans:

India is badly missing Bhuvneshwar Kumar here. Bumrah, Ishant and Shami are seam bowlers and not swing,Bhuvi might not have the pace but he is effective in these conditions #WTCFinal21

He has not been included in the Playing XI for many years in the test matches and the other bowlers have performed well and the team often needs their permanent players to keep combination right in the big events.

Bhuvi’s Injury Woes
The injury concerns often have kept away Bhuvneshwar Kumar away from the international circuit for the past 1 year.He sustained a thigh muscle injury during the IPL 2020 and was ruled out for 6 months. He then returned to the Indian limited-overs series that played against England. He picked 6 wickets in 3 ODI matches and was adjudged as the player of the March month by ICC. Then, in the IPL 2021 as well, he played few matches and left the field with a thigh strain and did not return until the tournament was postponed.
