R Ashwin to join Delhi Capitals for remainder of IPL 2021? Here’s the update

R Ashwin IPL: The covid situation in the country is taking a toll on everyone and several overseas players have already flown back to their country in the middle of the IPL. The Indian superstar Ravichandran Ashwin who is one of the mainstays of Delhi Capitals bowling attack announced that he will be taking a break from IPL right after the SRH game as his family members were fighting covid.
He also hinted that he would join the team if situation improves and there are chances that he might be joining the Delhi camp sooner rather than later.
R Ashwin to be available for the last leg?
Delhi Capitals are strongly placed at the top of the table at this point in time with 6 wins in 8 games. They have won games in a dominating manner and the games they lost were due to Rishabh Pant and Tom Curran’s disasterclass respectively.
It was expected that R Ashwin’s absence would weaken their bowling attack but Lalit Yadav stepped up in the meantime and DC have won 2 out of their 3 games that they have played without R Ashwin.

It has been learnt through Prithi Ashwin’s tweet that the situation in there has improved massively and one can expect R Ashwin to join the Delhi bubble for the last leg of the tournament to further power DC’s bowling attack. The unofficial BCCI spokesperson Boria Majumdar confirmed the news in one of his tweets.
From what I hear @ashwinravi99 might be back with @DelhiCapitals for the last leg. Things at home are better is what I hear. So glad if that’s the case and I wish him some respite mentally. It will be great to see him back. We need leaders like him.

Delhi Capitals have brushed aside KKR and PK in their last 2 games and are just 3 wins away from securing a playoff spot for 3rd consecutive time. They are playing an excellent brand of cricket inspite making selection blunders like playing Steve Smith in the XI let alone promoting him ahead of dashing Shimron Heymyer.
