SL vs BAN Stats : Sri Lanka will take on Bangladesh in the first Test match at Pallekele Stadium in Pallekele from 21 to 25 April. Sri Lanka is coming with a 0-0 drawn series against West Indies while Bangladesh is coming with a series losses in New Zealand.

Sri Lanka have been average in this format for a long time as recently they lost home Test series to England and then couldn’t win a Test in West Indies either but it’s a good opportunity for them to come back to winning ways as they will face struggling Bangladesh side. Captain Dimuth Karunaratne, inform Lahiru Thirimane, Angelo Mathews, Dinesh Chandimal, new comer Pathum Nisanka and all rounder Dananjay de Silva will have to step up with the bat and then in bowling the likes of Suranga Lakmal, Lahiru Kumara and spinners Wanindu Hasaranga and Ramesh Mendis will be the key bowlers.
On the other side, Bangladesh who have been abysmal across formats for the last six months need to do much better in this series. Their senior players Mushfiqur Rahim, Mominul Haq, Tamim Iqbal, Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Taijul Islam will have to step with bat and ball. Last time they won a Test in Sri Lanka and that will give them some confidence. Although they are without Shakib al Hasan who is playing in IPL.
