Ajinkya Rahane got the chop from DC playing 11 and you can say it’s hard on the player. He wasn’t needed to bat in the first game against CSK due to Shaw and Dhawan’s destruction but could manage only 8 runs against Rajasthan Royals in the last match. After just one failure the decision is hard on Rahane. A player of his quality deserves more chances.

Steve Smith has replaced Tom Curran as the fourth overseas player in the DC team, while Lukman Meriwala, who is making his IPL debut for DC, has replaced Ajinkya Rahane.

PBKS Debutant Jalaj Saxena

Punjab Kings have also made one change to the team that was plundered by Chennai Super Kings in the last match.
Murugan Ashwin has been far from perfect in the first two games and no wonder he finds himself at the end of the teamsheet. Jalaj Saxena is the player who has replaced the spinner in PBKS playing 11 for the match against DC. Saxena can bat and bowls off-break.
