Who is Shahbaz Ahmed IPL: The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have always had sensational firepower in their batting department over the years in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Many superstar batsmen have played for RCB in the IPL like Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Chris Gayle, KL Rahul, Glenn Maxwell and many more exciting names. And now, 26-year-old Shahbaz Ahmed has got a huge opportunity to bat at the No.3 position for RCB in the ongoing match against Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2021.

Hailing from Mewat in Haryana, Shahbaz Ahmed plays domestic cricket for Bengal and is a left-arm spin bowling all-rounder. In 14 T20 innings, Shahbaz has scored 181 runs with a highest score of unbeaten 60. He has also picked up a total of 21 wickets at an impressive economy of 6.94. Shahbaz had played 3 matches for RCB last year in the UAE picking 2 wickets at an economy of 8.29. However, this a huge call from Virat Kohli and RCB team management to back Shahbaz Ahmed for the crucial No.3 position.

Shahbaz Ahmed has performed decently for Bengal in the domestic circuit contributing both with the bat and ball. Barring batting at the No.3 position, it will be interesting to see how captain Virat Kohli uses Shahbaz with the ball in the second innings of the match as he has a lot of bowling options in this line-up.

Both the teams have made quite a few changes to their playing eleven from their previous outings. Royal Challengers Bangalore have brought in Devdutt Padikkal in place of Rajat Patidar. On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad have made two changes after the loss against KKR. Mohammad Nabi has been replaced by West Indies all-rounder Jason Holder and Shahbaz Nadeem has been included in the playing XI in place of Sandeep Sharma.
