Prithvi Shaw gave an absolute treat to Bengaluru crowd by smashing 136 runs against South Africa A in an unofficial Test on Sunday. Right from the very first day of his career as the captain of U-19 Prithvi has been in sparkling form and easy one to look to for in the future. Prithvi had a brilliant IPL season in which he was able to handle world class pacers from around the world with the utmost ease. Prithvi managed to take his IPL form to India A and smashed another century of his career. Shaw is showing his mettle as a cricketer at the unofficial level. He managed to score an aggregate of 603 runs in 10 innings for India A in recently concluded England tour, and he said that the credit goes to his coach Rahul Dravid. According to Prithvi, Rahul helped him in understanding the mental aspect of staying on the wicket for longer durations and scoring daddy 100s. Prithvi also felt patience is the key to succeeding at international level as compared to age-group cricket. Prithvi Shaw’s sparkling stroke play and his ability to play, express pace and with utmost ease have been the main feature of his batting which yet again he displayed as he stroked a majestic 136 in which he smashed 20 fours and one six to deflate the South African bowling.
Prithvi said in an interview, I have always been an attacking player, from the school days I Like when I hit the ball from the middle of the bat, and this is the only thing which I continued at u-19 and Ranji level. I always try to play every ball at its merit. I rely on consistency, and this is what needed at the higher level. While on talking about England’s tour Shaw said I don’t listen to the people I focus on every game.
