Mohammad Nabi Injury: The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) registered an amazing 10-run victory against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 3rd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 season on Sunday. KKR’s batting duo of Nitish Rana and Rahul Tripathi played brilliant half-century knocks to help their team reach a fighting total after which the bowlers displayed a solid performance to defy the opposition.

While chasing a challenging total of 188 runs, the Sunrisers Hyderabad did not get off to the best of starts as they lost both their openers quite early in the innings but then Jonny Bairstow played a remarkable knock of 55 runs to give them a chance. However, during the 16th over of the second innings, Mohammad Nabi copped up with a severe blow on his neck off a nasty short delivery from KKR pacer Prasidh Krishna. In a sigh of relief, the Afghanistan all-rounder did not suffer any serious injury as the team physio checked on him properly.

Nabi smashed an excellent boundary on the very next ball but he could only manage to score 14 runs as he got dismissed in the same over. Manish Pandey played an impressive unbeaten innings of 61 runs off 44 balls but he failed to take his team over the line. Towards the end, Abdul Samad smashed a cameo of 19 runs off 8 balls but it was too late until then for the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

SRH vs KKR IPL 2021: Is Kane Williamson nursing an injury?

During the post-match press conference, Sunrisers Hyderabad head coach Trevor Bayliss confirmed that Kane Williamson needs some more time to attain complete match fitness. SRH skipper David Warner left everyone stunned when he revealed that Williamson wasn’t part of the playing XI in the first game against Kolkata. Bayliss also stated that the team management felt that the New Zealand skipper needs to spend more time in the nets before getting match fit. Sunrisers Hyderabad will now face the Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 14 in Chennai.
