Why is Kane Williamson not playing in SRH vs KKR?
The Sunrisers Hyderabad have once again made some surprising selections with regards to their four overseas players in the playing XI for this first game. In a massive update, New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson has not been included in the playing XI and the likes of skipper David Warner, Jonny Bairstow, Mohammad Nabi and Rashid Khan are their four overseas players. Williamson’s exclusion surely comes as a huge surprise as he played impressively well for SRH last year having scored 317 runs in 12 matches at an average of 45.28.
Sunrisers Hyderabad also had their options in Mujeeb ur Rahman, Jason Roy while reports suggest that their last year’s star all-rounder Jason Holder is yet to complete his mandatory quarantine period. Nabi’s inclusion in the playing XI might be because of the spin-friendly conditions in Chennai.

Apart from Nabi, SRH have also included Vijay Shankar who did well last year with some crucial performances both with the bat and ball before getting ruled out due to injury. On the other hand, veteran Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh will be playing for the time in the KKR jersey. Considering his loads of experience, Harbhajan might come very useful on this Chepauk wicket and he was with the Chennai Super Kings till last year. Also, Shakib Al Hasan has been preferred ahead of KKR veteran Sunil Narine.
