Ellyse Perry Fielding Effort: As witnessed in the cricketing world in the last few years, the women’s cricketers all across the globe have taken their game to another level. Women cricketers are now matching male cricketers in every aspect of the game and this is great news for both the cricketing fraternity as well as for the millions of fans of the sport. Australia Women’s team experienced all-rounder Ellyse Perry displayed a sensational fielding effort in the second ODI against New Zealand Women on Wednesday.

Ellyse Perry’s incredible fielding effort

While chasing an imposing total of 272 runs in the second ODI match at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui, New Zealand folded for 200 runs in 45 overs. During the second innings of the game, Australian Women’s Ellyse Perry showcased a stunning fielding effort to save a six near the boundary rope. Perry initially took a brilliant catch while making a perfect high jump on the boundary line but she couldn’t hold her balance and instead threw the ball inside which was then collected by the other fielder.

Rachael Haynes and Jess Jonassen help Australia Women seal the ODI series

While talking about the second ODI match, Aussie opener Rachael Haynes played a brilliant innings of 87 runs off 105 balls that included 8 fours to help her team reach a massive total of 271 for 7 in their 50 overs. Alyssa Healy scored 44 runs while skipper Meg Lanning contributed with a 51-ball 49. For New Zealand, off-spinner Leigh Kasperek picked up a total of six wickets.

In the second innings, New Zealand Women’s team were bowled out for 200 runs with Amelia Kerr as the top-scorer as he contributed with 47 runs off 70 balls. Jess Jonassen was the pick of the Australian bowlers having taken figures of 3 for 29 and Georgia Wareham also picked two crucial scalps. With this 71-run victory, Australia Women have taken an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the three-match ODI series. The third and final ODI is scheduled on April 11 at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui.
