Krunal Pandya scores 50: As the first innings comes to an end, Team India have posted a fighting total of 317 from 50 overs of play. There were plenty of noteworthy knocks from the Indian camp, but one particular inning which stood out was that from the debutant Krunal Pandya.
Krunal Pandya gets emotional
The specialist all rounder walked into the crease at a tricky situation, with India toiling at 205 for the loss of five wickets in 40 overs. But that’s where Krunal Pandya stamped his authority on the England bowlers as he struck a scintillating knock of 58* from 31 deliveries. The Mumbai Indians player smashed seven boundaries, two sixes and batted with a strike rate of 187.

He was provided with value added support from wicket keeper batsman KL Rahul as he compiled a brilliant knock of 62* from 43 balls. Both batsmen remained unbeaten and accumulated a 112 run partnership in just 57 deliveries.

In spite of some brilliant batting display from the Indians, one certain moment which melted everyone’s heart was when Krunal Pandya couldn’t contain his tears during the post innings interview.

After scoring his debut fifty for India, Krunal also pointed to the heavens, while remembering his father who tragically passed away a few months ago. He also embraced his younger brother Hardik Pandya, after his knock, as they shared an intimate moment together.

That being said, the job is not yet done for the Pandya brothers, as they will have a role to play with the ball. Shikhar Dhawan played a pivotal knock and topped the charts with a 106 ball 98, while, K.L Rahul scored 62* from 43 balls. Virat Kohli and Krunal Pandya scored 56 and 58* respectively.
