NZ vs AUS 3rd T20I : There is some wonderful news for all the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) fans as their recent pick Glenn Maxwell is back in some ravishing form ahead of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). At the IPL 2021 Player Auction, RCB bought Australia’s swashbuckling batsman for a whopping price of INR 14.25 crores. In the ongoing five-match T20I series between New Zealand and Australia, Glenn Maxwell is back in form and was seen hitting the Kiwi bowlers all around the park in the third T20I match.

After failing to contribute much with the bat in the first two T20Is, Glenn Maxwell came out in all guns blazing fashion in the ongoing third T20I match against New Zealand at the Westpac Stadium in Wellington. Maxwell seemed to be in a pretty destructive mood from the start as he slammed New Zealand all-rounder Jimmy Neesham for a total of 28 runs in the 17th over of the Aussie innings. Maxwell’s demolition was such that one of the hits even smashed a hole in the seats. The Aussie batsman played an amazing innings of 70 runs off just 31 balls that included 8 fours and 5 sixes to help his team reach a challenging total of 208 runs in 20 overs.

Maxwell-Finch combo power Australia to 208
After losing the toss and being asked to bat first, Australia lost Matthew Wade quite early in the innings. However, the duo of Aaron Finch and Josh Philippe then bailed their team out of trouble with a remarkable partnership of 83 runs. Philippe contributed with a crucial knock of 43 runs off 27 balls. Then the pair of Maxwell and Finch absolutely demolished the New Zealand bowling with a quick-fire partnership of 64 runs.
Finch picked up some much-needed form with an impressive knock of 69 runs off 44 balls but the highlight of the Australian innings was Maxwell’s brilliant half-century innings that helped the team post 208 runs in their 20 overs. For New Zealand, Ish Sodhi picked up two wickets while Tim Southee and Trent Boult finished with a wicket each. While trailing 0-2 in the series, Australia desperately needs to win this game to keep the five-match T20I series alive.
