India are already 2-1 up in the series and a draw in the final game would be suffice for them to qualify for the final of the World Test Championship to face the Kiwis. India have withdrawn Jasprit Bumrah for the final test as the pacer himself requested to leave him out of the squad citing personal reasons. It is to be noted that India haven’t named a replacement for Jasprit Bumrah.
IND vs ENG: Umesh Yadav to return?
Umesh Yadav is one of the most lethal pacers in Indian cricket in Indian conditions. He has enormous numbers in the last 3 years in India and the visiting sides had no clue in handling him. Umesh Yadav was missed badly in the 1st test by India where England hammered India by 227 runs. The last 2 tests were prepared in such a way that Umesh Yadav wouldn’t have been of any use and India won the tests convincingly.

Now with the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, it is evident that Umesh Yadav will walks in directly to the playing 11 as the 2nd pacer alongside Ishant Sharma.
India played with 3 spinners in the pink ball test and they are likely to persist with that strategy as Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin cannot be dropped which would mean Indian management has to take a call between Washington Sundar and Mohammad Siraj. Since Washington Sundar offers plenty with the bat, he might play his 3rd game of the series.
