IPL Auction 2021: Chris Morris shatters all the records
Proteas all-rounder Chris Morris entered the IPL auction 2021 with a base price of 75 lakhs and from the very start, both the Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore looked quite desperate to get Morris. However, RCB pulled out of the bidding war as soon as the bid reached Rs 10 crores which brought in Rajasthan Royals in the mix. With their total purse of 15.35 crores, Mumbai also opted to pull out and that is when an exciting bidding war started between Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals. Eventually, it was the Royals who ended up acquiring Morris for a record amount.
Morris was injured in the first few matches for the RCB but performed impressively well with the ball in the second half of the 2020 season in the UAE picking 11 wickets from 9 games with an excellent economy of 6.63. On the other hand, the Royals also had their share of problems of identifying a fast bowling partner for Jofra Archer in IPL 2020 and with the inclusion of Chris Morris, their pace bowling attack certainly looks perfect.
