IND vs ENG : In the last two days, there have been a lot of talks doing the rounds by the former cricketers questioning the quality of the Chennai pitch for the second India vs England Test match. England took a 1-0 lead in the four-match Test series with a dominating 227-run win in the first Test match, but with the pitch turning square right from Day 1 of this second Test, the English team has struggled to compete both with the bat and ball. However, the local Chennai-lad Ravichandran Ashwin has had a great Test match so far picking his 29th five-wicket haul in the first innings and then scoring a fabulous hundred in the second innings.

After winning a crucial toss, India posted a challenging total of 329 runs on the board after Rohit Sharma’s sensational innings of 161 runs and fifties from Rishabh Pant and Ajinkya Rahane. Ashwin bowled superbly well to rattle England for a paltry total of 134 runs in the first innings. In the second innings, Ashwin gave a perfect answer to the people who were criticizing the Chennai track by scoring his 5th Test hundred displaying a perfect example on how to bat on a turning track. India’s paceman Mohammed Siraj who came out to bat at No. 11 added an impressive partnership of 49 runs was also seen elated in joy as his partner Ashwin reached the three-figure mark.

IND vs ENG: England up against a herculean task
With Ashwin’s brilliant ton and captain Virat Kohli’s masterclass innings of 62 runs, India has set a monumental 4th innings target of 482 runs for England. With the ball turning viciously and things are expected to worsen on Day 4, it will surely be a herculean task for England to even show some kind of fight in the ongoing second Test match. Indian captain Virat Kohli will be quite confident to level the series 1-1 with three quality spinners in Ashwin, Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav.
