India are in deep trouble after losing the series opener against England in Chennai as they cannot afford to lose another game in this series if they are to qualify for the final of World Test Championship (WTC) later this year at Lord’s.

It was evident that India missed the services of Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammad Shami in the game but one thing that Indians would be worried about will be their opening combination.
IND vs ENG: Bradd Hogg is skeptical about Rohit Sharma’s technique
Rohit Sharma was given a second chance as an opener in the longest format of the game after being termed as a failure in the middle order. Rohit Sharma entered the scene as a middle order bat in all the formats of the game during his initial stage of his career but MS Dhoni’s move to promote him as an opener in the shorter formats of the game made wonders.

It was expected that Rohit Sharma might not be a successful opener in tests unlike in ODIs and T20Is but it is fair to say that Rohit Sharma has done justice to some extent as an opener in tests  to date.
The former world cup winning member in Brad Hogg in his YouTube channel said that, England have a very potent attack to stop Rohit Sharma in this India vs England series.
I don’t think he is getting dropped. The only problem I have with Rohit Sharma is England have a good bowling attack against his technique. He does play away from his body, Anderson swings the ball away but Jofra Archer also gets that movement with extra bounce and pace.
Brad Hogg expects Rohit Sharma to score big
One of the main problems with Rohit Sharma is his tendency to go for the ball that are not in his hitting zones. Brad Hogg is worried about the same.
Sharma is got to learn to leave the ball outside off stump. In second innings, he just got an absolute beauty from Leach; very unplayable delivery. But against the left-handed off-spinner, he is got to have better footwork as well, bit lazy sometimes with that footwork against spin. But he is a phenomenal batsman and I am expecting him to score big in the next Test match
