However, what surprised and irked cricket fans was the exclusion of India’s present-day premier spinner R Ashwin’s name from the list. Many of them suggested Ravichandran Ashwin’s name at the place of Bishan Singh Bedi. A couple of them even disagreed with the list for considering VVS Laxman, J Srinath, Vijay Hazare, and Vinoo Mankad.

The hosts had a perfect start to their second innings with the ball as Ravichandran Ashwin dismissed England’s opener Rory Burns off the first ball of the innings.

With that, Ashwin achieved a very rare feat he will be mighty proud of. With his dismissal of Burns, Ashwin became the first spinner in more than 100 years to get a wicket off the first ball of an innings. Before him, it was South African cricketer Bert Vogler to do so in 1907.
