IND vs ENG Stats Highlights from Day 2 of 1st Test

IND vs ENG Stats : England continued their dominance over India on the second day of first Test in Chennai. They resumed their batting on 263/3 and set batsmen Joe Root and all rounder Ben Stokes continued to score runs here and there and their 124 runs partnership set the platform for a big score. Joe Root scored double hundred and eventually he got out for 218 runs, Ben Stokes played 82 runs and at stumps England were 555/8 in 180 overs.

1 – Joe Root became the first ever player to score 200 runs in 100th Test match of career. He played 218 runs marathon knock.

1 – For the first time since 2014 India have conceded an individual double hundred in Test cricket. Before Joe Root the last payer to score a double hundred was Brendon McCullum who scored 302 in Wellington Test back in 2014.

5 – Joe Root scored his 5th double hundred of Test career and it was his first double hundred against India.
