In a sudden turn of events, Australia have postponed their tour to South Africa earlier next month due to the novel corona virus pandemic. They were about to play a 3 match test series which would have decided their fate regarding the finals of World Test Championship.

Australia were comfortably placed in the points table and looked all set to play the final of WTC at Lord’s before the start of the India series. India surprised everyone by beating them in their own backyard which has turned the tables completely.

Since the SA vs AUS series is postponed, New Zealand have qualified for the finals automatically and they will be facing either India or England in the final at Lord’s. Although, Australia does have a chance to play the final, a lot of things need to go their way which is not even remotely likely to happen.

India vs England test series will decide the finalist of WTC and it will be an intriguing series considering the narrative that it has now. Though, India are favorites to win the series, England are in good form and have just blanked Sri Lanka 2-0 in their own backyard which should give them some confidence.
They have a commendable pace battery with 4 solid fast bowlers in Stuart Broad, James Anderson, Jofra Archer and Mark Wood. Their captain Joe Root is in stupendous form as well and he is also the best player of spin bowling in world cricket at the moment.
India have assembled a good squad but they are still without 3 of their first choice players in Mohammad Shami, Umesh Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja. India have to play their best cricket to qualify for the WTC final.
