India will be taking the field for the first time after having created the history in the Australian soil just weeks ago. This time, one may expect this series to be less challenging but England are a gun side and probably one of the best sides amongst Australia, South Africa and New Zealand when it comes to tackling quality spin bowlers in sub-continental conditions.

The Poms’s latest triumph on the shores of Sri Lanka is an example of their ability to win on low and slow tracks which are alien to them. India vs England test matches will be the first international cricket series in Indian soil post pandemic. The former world cup winning member in Gautam Gambhir fancies India to win this series.
Gautam Gambhir gives no chance to England
It is very important to have quality spinners to win a test match in India let alone winning the series. England don’t have the quality in their spin department which is one area that might haunt them and Gautam Gambhir believes the same.
“It has to be 3-0 India or probably 3-1. I’m only going to give a Pink Ball Test match, probably 50-50 to England just from the conditions point of view. I don’t see England winning any of the Test matches with the kind of spin attack they’ve got,” Gambhir said.

IND vs ENG: Will Joe Root make an impact?
Joe Root is considered as one of the modern day greats when it comes to tests and ODIs. He often goes under the radar but his numbers speak for themselves. He scored 426 runs at an average of 106 in the recently concluded series against Sri Lanka.
Although, Joe Root is in great form, Gautam Gambhir believes it’s a different ball game here in India.
“This is going to be a completely different challenge for someone like Joe Root. Yes, he has played really well in Sri Lanka, but when you have to face people like Jasprit Bumrah on any wicket, or for that matter, Ravichandran Ashwin, when his confidence is sky-high after what he has done in Australia, I am sure it is going to be a completely different beast and a completely different ball game,” Gambhir concluded.
