Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma blessed with baby girl. Here’s the announcement

The much awaited announcement is finally here! Indian captain Virat Kohli through his social media profiles has announced that his wife and popular Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma has given birth to a baby girl. It was in August 2020 that the couple made it public that they were expecting a baby around January 2021.

The princess has finally arrived. Anushka Sharma has given birth to a baby girl on January 11th, 2020. As per reports, she was taken to the hospital a few hours back. The much awaited news was made public by Kohli himself through various of his social media platforms.

“We are thrilled to share with you that we have been blessed with a baby girl this afternoon. We thank you all for your love, prayers and good wishes. Anushka and the baby are both healthy and we are feeling beyond blessed to start this new chapter of our lives. We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time. Love, Virat.”

Virat, who was on the tour down under had returned back to India few days before to accompany his wife for the most amazing moment of their life. He was granted a paternity leave by BCCI for the same.

Do not want to raise a child in the public eye, says Anushka

The couple hadn’t yet shared any images of the daughter. Being the people that they are, the photo of the new born child is not expected to be made public anytime soon. The power couple had earlier opined that they would like to raise their child far away from all public attention.

“We don’t plan on engaging our child in social media. I think it’s a decision your child should be able to take. No kid should be made to be more special than the other. It’s hard enough for adults to deal with it. It’s going to be difficult, but we intend to follow through” said Anushka on one of her previous interviews.

Both tied the knot on December 11, 2017, in a grand private ceremony in Italy. It was in August 2020 that they officially announced that they are expecting a baby.
