JASON ROY MAY BE OUT OF PLAYING 11
England opening batsman Jason Roy may be out from the crucial third one-day international against India due to his finger injury.
Roy suffered a laceration on the little finger of his right hand while fielding during England’s victory on the second ODI at Lord’s and will have a fitness test at Headingley on Tuesday morning to ascertain whether he is fit to play.
His absence would temporarily bring a halt to this prolific partnership with Bairstow. The opening pair has brought 11 half-century stands and five of a hundred or more in the 19 times they have opened in ODI matches.
It would also give Hampshire skipper James Vince an opportunity to re-ignite his England career.
VINCE MIGHT GET A CHANCE
Should he be ruled out, James Vince is expected to replace Roy in the XI, while Sam Billings has also been added to the squad as cover.
Vince was only called into the squad on Sunday in order to allow Dawid Malan to play in the England Lions’ four-day game against India A.

Vince has showed a fine form and has smashed two centuries at an average of 58.55 guiding the team to success in the Royal London One-Day Cup.
Vince has also scored a half-century, against Sri Lanka in Cardiff in 2016. He looks set to win his sixth cap so long as he sees off the challenge of Sam Billings, who was called up as further batting cover late on Monday when it emerged Roy’s injury was serious.
WE’LL GIVE OUR BEST: MARK WOOD
“If you think a lot, a close game and being on the winning side of an anxious match, it can be a good indication of where your side is but I think we’ve shown plenty of improvement from the first game to the second. Hopefully, we’ll play well again tomorrow,” Wood said.
