CEL vs MIL Dream11 Prediction: AC Milan makes the long trip to Scotland to take on Celtic in the opening fixture of the Europa League. Celtic have had a great run in general but will not be happy with the way they enter this game after losing to arch-rivals – Rangers, in the Old Firm Derby in their last fixture. Before this, they had last lost a game in August where a 2-1 defeat to Ferencvaros meant that they did not qualify for the Champions League. Often the undisputed Scottish champions, Celtic find themselves 2nd in the Scottish Premier League this season, although they do have a game in hand. As for AC Milan, they aren’t the same side that they once were but have had a perfect start to their Serie A season as they sit on top of the table. Even AC Milan’s last game was against their bitter rivals, Inter, which they won 2-1. Milan will be the more confident side despite suffering a blow as Hakan Calhanoglu will be unavailable for this fixture. Neil Lennon’s Celtic have rarely managed to convert their domestic form into European success, whereas AC Milan is a powerhouse in Europe and have won the Champions League 7 times.

Who will win today’s match?
AC Milan enters this game as the clear favourites at 1.83 and Celtic at just 4.30. Despite the impeccable domestic success, Celtic have not found it easy in the European competitions and have had a few embarrassing nights against the bigger sides. Their amazing run of form is only contextual and they failed to qualify for the Champions League after losing to Ferencvaros. AC Milan on the other hand, face far better opposition on a weekly basis and their run of form is more credible as they beat Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan by 2 goals to 1. The away side will be far more confident and will even look to involve some second-string players as well to give a few big names a rest. Even with a weakened squad, Milan is far better than Celtic and anything less than a win will be unacceptable to Stefano Pioli as their hunt for silverware continues. With top experienced players like Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Alessio Romagnoli, mixed with youthful talents like Brahim Diaz and Theo Hernandez, Milan will be difficult to beat. However, if Celtic want to send a statement across Europe about their prowess, this is the best opportunity to clock a win in CEL vs MIL Dream11 Match Prediction.
CEL vs MIL Dream11 Teams
Captain options
Zlatan Ibrahimovic – The Swedish goalscoring hero returns to AC Milan and with style. He has scored 4 goals in two games, with braces against Bologna and Inter. He has scored 472 goals and provided 182 assists in his career so far and won trophies everywhere he went. A Europa League trophy will be a great addition for AC Milan at the moment and Zlatan is the perfect man for it.
Leigh Griffiths – Veteran striker, Leigh Griffiths, will spearhead the Celtic frontline against AC Milan. With 11 goals and 4 assists last season and a goal in just 2 appearances this season, Griffiths will look to cause AC Milan a lot of problems. Last season, he registered a goal contribution every 91.2 minutes which is excellent and he will look to carry that on.
Rafael Leao – Rafael Leao joined AC Milan last season from Lille and did quite well to score 8 times and provide 4 assists so far with limited starts. 2 of those goals and 1 assist came in the last two games. In the absence of Calhanoglu and Rebic, the 21-year-old has the perfect opportunity to prove his worth to Stefano Pioli.
X-factors (differential picks)
Albian Ajeti – Having signed from West Ham United this summer window, Ajeti has had a brilliant start to the season, scoring 5 goals and providing 1 assist in 7 games in the Scottish Premier League. He has averaged a goal contribution every 53 minutes which will go down very well with the Celtic fans.
Alexis Saelemaekers – Alexis Saelemaekers has grabbed his opportunity in the absence of Rebic so far. He has a goal and an assist this season after signing for Milan from Anderlecht this summer window. He will look to carry on and provide more goal contributions, starting from the Europa League fixtures.
Callum McGregor – Midfielder, Callum McGregor, has had a mainstay in the Celtic midfield since 2014 when he signed from Notts County. In that time, he has scored 51 goals and provided 58 assists in 288 appearances for the Celts. He has already registered 2 goals and 2 assists this season and will be a tough player to stop for AC Milan.
