FIN vs IRE Dream11 Prediction: Ireland travels to Helsinki to take on Finland in the fourth matchday of the UEFA Nations League B, group 4 game. Finland is high on confidence after beating Bulgaria 2-0 with goals coming from Robert Taylor and substitute, Fredrik Jensen. This win takes them to the second place of group 4 in the second division of the Nations League, trailing leaders, Wales, by just one point. Finland started this international break very poorly with a 5-1 loss to Poland but Markku Kanerva rested all his first-team players to keep them fresh for the important games and it paid off. Their opponents, the Republic of Ireland, don’t have a lot to be glad about, unfortunately. The pressure is mounting on Stephen Kenny as his side has failed to win a game in 5 attempts, with their last win coming in November 2019. They are also winless in this edition of the Nations League with 2 draws, against Bulgaria and Wales, and a loss against Finland. Kenny’s side has also failed to qualify for the Euros 2021 after losing to Slovakia on penalties a few days ago. They desperately need a win anyhow for the Ireland fans and players to believe again. They are currently in third place, 4 points behind Finland and even a win will see them remain in third place.

Who will win today match!
Ireland is 23/10 to win this game which reflects the poor form that they’re in. Despite Finland’s form guide, they have still won 2 of their last 3 games, the loss coming from an inconsequential friendly game against Poland. The Finnish will be far more confident and start the game 4 points clear of their counterparts. Ireland will not write themselves off as they do possess talented players like Jeff Hendrick, Matt Doherty, Enda Stevens, Aaron Connolly and Shane Duffy who are all first-team players in the Premier League. The absence of Seamus Coleman will be definitely be felt but they will still be capable of putting up a fight. The fact that this is an away game does not help their cause but this is Finland’s second game in as many as just three games. A win will put the Boys in Green within touching distance of the first placed spot and Stephen Kenny will know that these next three games will be make-or-break for them. Finland will approach this game as favourites and look to prey on Ireland’s vulnerabilities. They will try to hold on to possession as much as possible as seeing less of the ball can mount more frustration for the Irish players who are aching for a win. Captain options
Teemu Pukki – The Norwich striker will be fired up for this game after getting off the mark in terms of goals and assists this season. Despite a poor season from the Canaries last season, Pukki still managed to chalk up 11 goals and 3 assists and had 29 goals and 9 assists in the 2018/19 season where he helped Norwich to Premier League promotion. He heads the Finnish attacking line with his 25 goals and 7 assists for the national team.
Jeff Hendrick – Fresh from his move to Newcastle from Burnley this season, Kenny will turn to players like Hendrick to lead the charge against Finland. He will be happy with how life has begun for him at the St. James’ with a goal and assist so far but he won’t be too pleased with his numbers for the Irish national team, scoring just twice. But he is an experienced figure in the dressing room and he will take charge as both strikers – Idah (19) and Connolly (20), are still very young.
Fredrik Jensen – Fredrik Jensen started on the bench against Bulgaria but it took him just 2 minutes to find the net after coming on in the second half. He will hope that this will be enough in guaranteeing him a starting spot against Ireland. At the age of just 23, the Augsburg man will have a lot to prove having already provided 8 goal contributions (6 goals and 2 assists) in 15 games for Finland.
X-factors (differential picks)
Matt Doherty – Matt Doherty, one of the best right-backs in the Premier League, recently made the switch from Wolverhampton Wanderers to Tottenham Hotspurs in the summer. Doherty is known for his crosses and his involvement in building up play from the flanks. If Finland gives him even an inch of space, Doherty will terrorize the Finnish defence with crosses in the box.
Robert Taylor – Robert Taylor opened the scoring for Finland against Bulgaria which was also his first goals for the national team in 13 caps. Being deployed on the left-wing, Taylor will look to use Doherty’s higher positioning on the pitch to get in behind him and make life difficult for the Irish defence. He can link-up with the likes of Teemu Pukki and Fredrik Jensen to create and score goals in the final third and will be particularly deadly on counter-attacks.
Conor Hourihane – After escaping relegation with Aston Villa by a whisker last season, he has begun this campaign with a goal and assists in just 2 league appearances. He will now look to replicate this form for the country as well since he has just 1 goal in 20 caps. Playing behind Idah and Connolly and beside Hendrick, he will be on the constant lookout for line-breaking passes to create chances and finally get appositive result for Ireland.
