Pitches have begun to slow down after bulk of matches at handful of venues in this year’s IPL. It was pretty evident during today’s afternoon match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals. Plenty of star players are in action today as both the teams are in serious need of two points from this fixture.
David Warner was done by Jofra Archer again!
David Warner and Jofra Archer share a history between them as English fast bowler got the better of Australian opener time and again in the recent limited overs series in the UK. This interesting match-up was again on display today as David Warner elected to bat first on a dry surface at Dubai.
After losing Jonny Bairstow early, it was David Warner’s job to bat through the innings and guide SRH to a competitive total. David Warner was playing well and looked all set to go big when Jofra Archer came back for his second spell. He was cranking it up right from the beginning today and he angled a delivery towards David Warner’s middle and leg. The Australian tried to play it over the covers but missed it altogether. It was mainly due to the impeccable length from Jofra Archer and that too at some wheels. As a result of that, the ball disturbed the furniture of David Warner’s stumps.

Jofra Archer dismissed David Warner for the 7th time in all forms of the game in last 14 months. And it is only fair to add that Jofra Archer will now want his Xbox as per his prediction before the IPL started.

Sunrisers post a fighting total
It was quite clear that batsmen were struggling for their timing on this dry and used surface of Dubai International Stadium today. David Warner and Manish Pandey were the main contributors for Sunrisers Hyderabad with the scores of 48 & 54 respectively. Priyam Garg and Kane Williamson landed some handy blows in the death overs to propel SRH to a total of 158. Rajasthan Royals batsmen won’t find it easy to score here and the pitch will become even slower in the second innings.
