The Royal Challengers Bangalore took on a Kings XI Punjab team which is studded with people from Karnataka. The Kings XI side come into this contest on the back of a morally disappointing loss after their game went to a Super Over. Ideally they should have knocked off 1 run of 3 balls but then cricket is a game of glorious uncertainties.
The intelligence of Yuzvendra Chahal oozes out
One of the most intelligent spinner going around is Yuzvendra Chahal. The leggie just has a great cricketing brain and reads the game so well. Yuzvendra Chahal has the knowledge on when to bowl what delivery and that trait just helps him picks loads of wickets.
Kings XI Punjab were cruising along after posting 50 runs without a loss of a wicket in their power play and captain Virat Kohli turned to his favorite spinner for a breakthrough. The talented leggie did not disappoint his captain though as he struck in his first over final ball.
Yuzvendra Chahal delivered a loopy googly inviting Mayank Agarwal for a drive. Mayank Agarwal, who is in such great form didn’t read the googly off the hand and left a big gap between bat and bad through which the ball sneaked to rattle the middle peg.
Brilliant Spell of bowling not backed up by teammates
Yuzvendra Chahal was just absolutely brilliant in his spell tonight as he finished with match figures of 1-25 off his 4 overs. The fact that Kings XI Punjab crossed 200 showcases how good an economy of 6 is and how badly the other bowlers bowled on this day. The likes of Umesh Yadav, Dale Steyn, Navdeep Saini and Shivam Dubey all were taken to the cleaners in RCBs bowling innings.
The shocking fact that skipper Virat Kohli dropped two easy catches of KL Rahul did not help the bowlers cause either. Now it’s upto the batsman to step up and chase a huge total of 207 runs in the 20 overs.
