Virat Kohli said that team India would be experimenting with their batting order to ‘surprise their opposition’ in the next match against Ireland and in the subsequent series against England.
Kohli came to bat at No. 6 in the opening T20 against Ireland where India won the match by 76 runs.
Kohli sprang a few surprises in the previous match as Suresh Raina came out to bat at No. 3 and Mahendra Singh Dhoni came out on No. 4.
“We have already made you all aware about the fact that apart from the opening combination we are looking forward to doing a lot of experiments in the middle order,”the skipper said.
“We are going to be flexible in the next T20s as well. We will send the guys when the situation requires them to come in and try to play their knock,” revealed Kohli.

“It would give the opportunity to the batsmen who couldn’t get the opportunity to bat. Those who couldn’t get an opportunity will get the opportunity in the next match,” he added.
Skipper was satisfied with India’s performance as they outplayed Ireland in all departments.
“The opening combination was great. Ireland were terrific in the last over. Rohit and Shikhar’s efforts put us in a good position. And good strikes from MS, Raina and Pandya, in the end, contributed as well. Bowlers did their job perfectly too,” Kohli added.
Ireland skipper Gary Wilson asserted that his batsmen need to find a way for playing the Indian spinners better.
“India are a world-class side and their batsmen at the top played excellently. I had expected it to be a good wicket, but I was not expecting spin to come into play as it did in the second innings. We would have bowled spinners in the power play,” he said.
“You can always try doing different things when things don’t go as you expect them to go. We are going to talk and figure out a way to tackle their spinners. James Shannon scored well in the last match and that is one positive we can take from this match,” he added.
