WATCH: Liam Livingstone puts in a sensational fielding effort to save boundary

English batsman Liam Livingstone made a sensational save at the boundary while fielding during the final ODI against Ireland on Tuesday. It was literally a jaw-dropping moment as the ball was headed for a certain maximum. However, Livingstone had some other ideas as made an acrobatic save to prevent the ball from crossing the boundary.

Liam Livingstone made his presence felt through his fielding

During the 3rd and the final ODI between England and Ireland, there was a moment which amazed everyone. Liam Livingstone, who was dropped to the bench, came to field in place of the skipper Eoin Morgan. During the 38th over of the Irish innings, Moeen Ali was struggling to find his length right against the Irish skipper Andrew Balbirnie and he dished out a rank-hop. Balbirnie had no problem in smoking the ball as it looked destined for a maximum. However, Liam Livingstone put on a screaming effort to pull the ball back to the play and restricted the batsman. He saved 4 valuable runs for England during a tight chase.

England’s fielding has been elevated since Paul Collingwood has taken over as the fielding coach. It was another instance of super fielding skills of a player underlining the importance of fielding in modern-day cricket.

With the series already in the bag, England were looking to complete a clean-sweep but Ireland were equal to the task and determined to get one back. While England managed to rack-up a huge total of 328 batting first, Ireland team chased down the target in the final over with 7 wickets in their hands. Paul Stirling and Andrew Balbirnie were the stars for the visitors as both batsman completed their respective hundreds and helped their team in completing a historic victory over England.
