India’s limited overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma has cleared the Yo-Yo test on Wednesday.
Reportedly, Test team vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane was kept on standby to replace Rohit in case he flunked the Yo-Yo test, but now BCCI would not include Rahane in the squad as Rohit Sharma would fly along with Indian squad to Ireland.
A BCCI official said in an interview, “Rahane is being seen as a reserve opener who could fill that role in case need arises. As of now, we have not heard of any Rohit’s fitness issues.”

Rohit Sharma was supposed to appear for the Yo-Yo test on June 17 after he returned from Russia but he didn’t appear for the test due to some reasons.

Reports suggested that Rohit failed the yo-yo test twice during the Indian Premier League which was held last month, thus clouds of uncertainty were looming over Rohit’s fitness.
If he had failed to achieve the desired mark, he would have been dropped from the team and Rahane would have been roped in as his replacement.
