Yuzvendra Chahal reveals how he and MS Dhoni plotted against Glenn Maxwell in 2017 series

The #1 leg spinner in India at the moment shared an interesting story in which he revealed how he planned along with the legend MS Dhoni to dismiss the destructive Glenn Maxwell in the 2017 ODI series in India.

The Australia’s tour to India in 2017 turned out to be an unfruitful one for the visitors as India won the ODI series 4-1. Australia’s X-factor in Glenn Maxwell became a bunny to Yuzvendra Chahal as the wrist spinner dismissed the right hander 3 times in the 5 match ODI series which left Maxwell clueless.

In a recent interaction with Mayank Agarwal and Kuldeep Yadav, the RCB player said,

I always tried to bowl outside the stumps to Glenn Maxwell. I also tried to keep mix-up my deliveries. I would mostly bowl to him outside the stumps, and sometimes I would bowl to him in the middle

It is always a blessing in disguise for a spinner to have a great cricketing mind behind the stumps who can guide them and Yuzvendra Chahal found the guidance of MS Dhoni who helped him in planning the dismissal of Glenn Maxwell

The plan between me and Mahi bhai was to bowl to him outside the stumps. I knew he was about to charge on my bowl, so I bowled this one even further outside the off stump

Maxwell lacked patience!

The Haryana bowler further added that Glenn Maxwell was lacking patience big time which eventually paved way to his dismissals.

He (Maxwell) was lacking patient in this series. He was always trying to attack on my deliveries, and he would start hitting shots against me. So I spoke to Mahi bhai, what to do. So Mahi bhai said, ‘we will mix-up the deliveries. We will not show him that we are about to bowl to him outside off-stump, so that it will create chances to get him out.

The leggie has dismissed Maxwell for 10 times across ODIs, T20Is and IPL.
