Rashid Khan and Yuzvendra Chahal are undoubtedly two of the greatest modern-day leg spinners that are ruling the world cricket right now. Both of them have been very active on social media during these lockdown days. They both caught up in an Instagram live session recently. During the live session, they shared a hilarious incident where India’s young wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant made an Afghan bowler cry.
Rise of Rashid Khan and Rishabh Pant
The rise of Rishabh Pant, Yuzvendra Chahal, Rashid Khan, and Afghan cricket in general almost happened simultaneously. Rishabh Pant started making waves in international cricket as soon as he was given his cap in all three formats of the game as a reward to his great IPL and domestic records. Similarly, Rashid Khan’s rise coincided with the rise of Afghan cricket in general. These two young guns have ruled world cricket ever since then.
Rishabh Pant creating nightmares for bowlers
Known for his explosive batting and his unorthodox approach, Rishabh Pant has been a nightmare for bowlers irrespective of the format. When in good touch, he can take on all kinds of bowlers with ease. His ability to clear the field using one-handed lofted shots switch hit and scoops over the third man makes life difficult for any bowler and captain.

Afghanistan’s bowling sensation Rashid Khan narrated a hilarious incident where Rishabh Pant made life difficult for one of his bowling companions.
Rishabh was hitting the ball all around the park on that day recalled Rashid. He was in fine nick and was taking on each and every Afghan bowler. Then the captain decided to give the ball to a left-arm spinner. He hit him for a six in the first ball, followed by six in the second and third balls consecutively. In total, he hit three sixes on the trot. He decided to play the fourth ball in the back foot and hit the ball straight to the fielding standing at the short-mid wicket. Unfortunately, the fielder dropped the catch and the bowler was distressed. He started crying with his hands above his head. He started complaining about what has to be done now and who will take his wicket.
Both Yuzvendra Chahal and Rashid Khan have been the torch bearers of their country’s spin bowling department. In the live session, they discussed about life in general, the return of cricket, and even picked a combined India- Afghanistan XI.
