The anticipation regarding the Border-Gavaskar trophy is blazing as the fans are awaiting series of the decade between two of the best test playing nations in the world at the moment. As we all know that India created history when they clinched the test series in Australia for the first time in the history of cricket thereby retaining the Border-Gavaskar trophy.
Although India faced a depleted Australian side last time around with Steve Smith and David Warner were banned due to ball tampering scandal and also their present superstar in Marnus Labuschagne was not even half the batsman that he is now, Indian bowlers completely out bowled the hosts by a big margin.
Dates fixed for the day-night test!
After a lot of uncertainties over the happenings of the series, the cricket Australia have come up with the decision of going ahead with the series as planned and India will start the series in the Australia’s fortress in Brisbane on December 3 where the home side haven’t lost a test match in over 30 years.
The 2nd test is the one that all the fans will be glued to as it will be a pink ball test in Adelaide on December 11 which will be India’s first day-night test away from India. The hosts have ample experience with the pink ball but the sub Continent side played just a game against Bangladesh in Eden Gardens which turned out to be an one sided affair in the end. It will be interesting to how India approaches that game against the full strength Australian side.
The 3rd test will be a boxing day test at the MCG on December 26 and the last test will be at the Sydney cricket ground on January 3. There is no doubt that this series will be filled with breathtaking moments all the way through.
Virat Kohli’s test team has a strong bowling attack- Ian Chappell
It was earlier said that the Australian board was planning to propose 2 day-night tests out of the 4 tests to draw more audience but the former Australian batting great in Ian Chappell said that it may backfire badly as India have a strong bowling attack. In a column for ESPNcricinfo, Chappell said
Cricket Australia is contemplating two day-night Tests for the 2020-21 Indian tour. However, if that ploy is meant to advantage Australia, it may backfire as India have a strong attack and (Virat) Kohli has already shown he’s adept at captaincy in this part of the world
