Gautam Gambhir Names IPL Captain Who Can Win 6-7 Titles

Former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir has named Mumbai Indian’s skipper Rohit Sharma as the best captain in the IPL. According to Gautam Gambhir, Rohit Sharma is a remarkable captain and he can go on to win 6-7 IPL titles and finish as the competition’s most successful captain as he already has 4 title victories against his name.

What did Gautam Gambhir Say?

The former KKR captain and 2-time IPL winner Gambhir was a part of Star Sports’ cricket connected show alongside the names like Kevin Pietersen, Sanjay Bangar, Ashish Nehra, Irfan Pathan and Danny Morrison.

Addressing the ‘best captain in the IPL history’ debate Gambhir was all-praise for current Indian opener. Gambhir said –

I think it’s Rohit Sharma. He has won it four times. Captaincy is all about winning trophies.

Gambhir further added –

He will end up being the most successful IPL captain of all time as well. He has 4 already, he may finish at 6-7 maybe under his belt.

Adding to Gautam Gambhir’s insights, former Indian batting coach Sanjay Bangar said –

The number of close matches that Mumbai Indians have won actually show Rohit’s success as captain.

Former English superstar Kevin Pietersen chose MS Dhoni as the best IPL captain instead of Rohit Sharma. Speaking on the subject, KP said –

It is very difficult to go against MS Dhoni because of what everyone expects from him. How he has lived his life. What he has been through. Captaining India and then captaining CSK. I love what Rohit Sharma does, I love what Mumbai Indians have done. But because of consistency and living up to the weight of expectation, MS Is my guy.

Former New Zealand cricketer and now commentator Danny Morrison also agreed with Kevin Pietersen. He also picked MS Dhoni over Sharma.

I am looking at the vibes and inspiration and that fellow brings in and he did the same when he was in blue. I want to back that guy, I wanna be in his corner. And sometimes out of nowhere, he brings out the helicopter shot. MS takes pressure like no one else,

added Danny Morrison.
