Sanju Samson Names Toughest Bowler in IPL and His Cricket Heroes

Indian wicket-keeper batsman Sanju Samson has recently named his three favourite cricketers of all time. The Kerala born player is currently working really hard to get a consistent run for the ‘Men In Blue.’ Though Samson has impressed in the high voltage Indian Premier League (IPL) in the past, he is yet to show his true potential in international cricket.

Most Challenging Bowler 

But it is a known fact that Samson has the quality to make it to the big stage as he has faced some of the best bowlers in the IPL. One of the bowlers whom he’s found most difficult to face was Sunil Narine.

Sunil Narine. Though I have played well against him in the IPL, he’s a superb bowler, Samson confessed.

The specialist batsman got his first call to play for India at the tender age of 19 versus England. But in spite of being a member of the squad, Samson didn’t get to make debut. In the following year verus Zimbabwe, the young got his first game in the T20I series. But Samson continued to be picked and dropped by the selectors at regular intervals.

He’s also been a part of the series versus Bangladesh at home, as well as against the West Indies, Sri Lanka and recently New Zealand where he did get a couple of opportunities but failed to make an impression.  Though still 25 years of age, Sanju Samson has got time on his hands as he hopes for to get much better in career for Team India. When asked about some of his role models or heroes in the game , Samson resorted to Rahul Dravid, MS Dhoni and South Africa international AB de Villiers.

The Constant Heroes 

Rahul Dravid, MS Dhoni and A B de Villiers are my heroes, he was quoted saying.

That being said, it was his former coach and one of the finest batsman India has ever produced, Rahul Dravid who has had a bigger impact on Samson’s career.

He’s made me realise the importance of technique. He also told me that batting style and talent alone are not enough to succeed in international cricket, Sanju Samson further added.
