IPL 2020 in July a Possibility: BCCI Source
IPL 2020, scheduled to start from March 29, has been postponed due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 until April 15. As per earlier reports, the October-November window was being looked at to organize the thirteenth edition of Indian Premier League.
Now, fresh reports have surfaced suggesting that the board is probing into the July window for the tournament.
“The board is looking at an alternate window to host matches, possibly in July, or latest during winter,” said a senior BCCI official to CNBC-TV18 on condition of anonymity.
IPL 2020 might not be full-fledged tournament
However, it is likely that IPL will take place behind closed doors and may not be full-fledged.
“If the lockdown is extended, it would be difficult to have a full-fledged IPL in the current window till the beginning of June,” the source added.
