It is quite obvious that the nationwide lockdown which is scheduled to continue till 15th April has put a halt everyone’s life. People are exploring different measures to involve themselves in different tasks.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already appealed the fellow countrymen to stay at home, stay safe as the death toll courtesy COVID-19 pandemic is increasing day by day. There are rumors that this lockdown might get stretched considering the rate of deaths and positive cases increasing.
Cricketers, other sporting personalities and celebrities have made monetary contributions to help the government fight in this torrid period. At the same time, they have also appealed people to stay at home and stay safe.
What’s next for Shreyas Iyer?
There are no signs of things getting better in the near future which might once again force BCCI to rethink about the fate of IPL. The proposed schedule for the start of the 13th season of the IPL was March 29th, but the nationwide lockdown and regular increase of positive COVID-19 cases forced them to postpone the marquee event until April 15th.
With IPL’s status for this season looking gloomy, we might not witness Shreyas Iyer once again leading the Delhi Capitals. Meanwhile, ICC is pretty much confident for the start of the T20 World Cup which is proposed to get underway from 18th October. This means we might see Shreyas Iyer in action, not before the T20 World Cup.
