Virat Kohli will be looking to end his and Royal Challengers Bangalore’s long wait for the Indian Premier League (IPL) trophy when the latest edition of the league starts this month. The thirteenth edition of the league starts on March 29 with defending champions Mumbai Indians locking horns against Chennai Super Kings in the tournament opener at the Wankhede Stadium.
Virat features in a star sports commercial
As the tournament is getting closer and closer, the broadcasters have started making the fans excited by releasing a number of interesting commercials. Recently, Rohit Sharma was seen in such a commercial and now Virat Kohli has starred in another commercial.
In the commercial, Virat Kohli could be seen questioning a man who mistakenly plays a video in which a man says ’13 Kya Hoga Kohliya’. Wearing a newsboy cap and long coat, Kohli hilariously pulled the man towards himself before saying: “Vivo IPL 13 mera hoga re”. The Royal Challengers captain also promised something new will happen this season which hasn’t happened till now.

RCB hopeful this year
The Royal Challengers continue to be the perennial underachievers of the league. Since the inception of the league in 2008, they have always boasted of a star-studded line-up. However, they have rarely managed to deliver as per the expectations. As of now, they are one of the only three teams who have never won the IPL.
Royal Challengers have made it to the final thrice but ended up on the wrong side of the result on all the occasions. Their performance in recent years has been worse. Since making it to the final in 2016, they have not progressed ahead of the league stage. In last three seasons, they have finished at the bottom twice while on the other occasion, they finished at a lowly sixth spot in the eight-team competition.
But the Bangalore-based outfit are being tipped to win the title once again thanks to their star-studded line up that consists the likes of Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. They have a new-look side as well as a new backroom staff with former Australia batsman Simon Katich as the head coach.
