The Indian team will be hoping for a turnaround at the Hagley oval, Christchurch after surrendering to the New Zealanders in the 1st test. The magnificent bowling from the Kiwis saw the Indians succumbed to the moving ball and went down like a pack of cards.
The #1 side in the most difficult format of the game didn’t play like the way they would have wanted to. Even the Indian team wouldn’t have expected such a poor show after having an experienced core group of players who have ample experience of how to counter the moving ball.
Turbo Touch- A unique drill for the Indian boys
The Indian team’s head strength and conditioning coach Nick Webb introduced a new training drill for the Indian team which the boys seemed to enjoy and trained with full involvement.

Here’s what the conditioning coach had to say about the new training drill
A general warm-up to start with, to get the boys moving. We always try to finish up with a game. It’s pretty intensive. It’s called ‘turbo touch’. It’s an evasive guys in which you divide the players into two teams, and they try and score in between the two goals. The idea is that they have only two touches to score and they have to try and evade and try to change up the rules of the way they can catch and the way they play the game as we go
Another green top awaits India
It looks like Indians will be greeted with another absolute green mamba in the 2nd test as well. The Indian batters couldn’t counter the seam and swing that was on offer for the Kiwi bowlers.

It will be interesting to see how Indians adapt to the conditions in the 2nd test, with Ishant Sharma injured, it will be interesting to see how India will mange the loss. The reports also suggested that Prithvi Shaw will be given a go for the 2nd time in the series
