Indian keeper-batsman KL Rahul celebrates 5 Million followers on Instagram

Last year and so far in 2020, it has been amazing for the Indian keeper-batsman KL Rahul as he proved his batting skills, especially in limited-overs. The dashing wicket-keeper just smashed his maiden ODI century in New Zealand as India was on the verge of a rare occasion getting whitewashed in ODIs. Now that’s not the only delightful moment for him, as he has just reached 5 million followers on his Instagram handle.
5 million followers for KL Rahul
KL Rahul massive fan following has turned out to be 5 million just this afternoon, and the keeper-batsman announce this news with an Insta photo of himself while posing with five fingers which indicates the news. Photo below.
KL Rahul posted this picture today with a caption reading, “5 million more reasons to be grateful” which was followed by a series of emojis.
Records created with his 112-run knock in third ODI
- With his maiden century in the third ODI, KL Rahul became the only second wicketkeeper to score a century outside Aisa while batting on No.5. Before him, the former Indian skipper and also wicket-keeper batsman Rahul Dravid scored 145 against Sri Lanka in 1999 World Cup in Taunton.
- Rahul has joined the elite club of Indian players to have scored an ODIÂ century while playing the role of the keepers- the other four being Rahul Dravid and MS Dhoni.

- Another interesting fact about KL Rahul is that his all four ODI centuries came in four different countries- Zimbabwe, England, India and New Zealand. And with this, he also became the second Indian to score each of his first four ODI ton in different countries. Apart from him, Yuvraj Singh’s first six ODI centuries came ni six different countries- BAN, AUS, SL, ZIM, IND and PAK.
- His 112- run knock is now the highest ODI score by an Indian in New Zealand. Whereas KL Rahul’s 112 is the 3rd highest ODI score in away from home series for India while batting at No.5.
