Top 5 Moments of IPL 2018

The journey started with nostalgia on 7 April ’18 and it ended perfectly as the experienced side of Chennai Super Kings ended the eleventh edition of the Indian Premier League with a win.

The IPL is one of the much-anticipated T20 leagues of the world and now as the roller coaster ride of two months has come to an end, let’s rewind it and have a look at the top moments of IPL 2018:

#5 Appointment of Kane Williamson as the captain of SRH

The ball-tampering scandal rocked the cricketing world and it impacted the Indian Premier League too. As it barred the Australian cricketer David Warner from participating in the tournament, Sunrisers Hyderabad suffered a huge blow ahead of the tournament.

They had a mammoth task of appointing a skipper who could fill the shoes of David Warner and they chose New Zealand cricketer Kane Williamson.

It paid off well and the Sunrisers Hyderabad finished as the runner-up of the tournament.

#3 Bravo’s fireworks in the first game

In a thrilling encounter between the defending champions Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings, Dwayne Bravo’s knock of 68 off 30 balls stood out in the first match of Indian Premier League as CSK announced their return in the Wankhede with a win.

#2 Rashid Khan’s knock in the eliminator

At a moment when SRH were finding it difficult to reach the mark of 150, Rashid came out to bat at number 8 and smashed an unbeaten 10-ball 34 and helped his team post a total of 174/7 which ultimately led to their win in the Qualifier 2.

#1 The emotional upheaval in Chennai

Chennai Super Kings have grown remarkably over the years. Cutting across barriers, connecting with its large army of fans, CSK have registered themselves as one of the most successful franchises of the Indian Premier League.
