The extravaganza of the Indian Premier League has reached the knockout stages and the defending champions have been eliminated from the tournament.
The Mumbai Indians have developed a reputation of being late bloomers, but this year they couldn’t make it and lost to the Delhi Daredevils by 11 runs.
In a season where none of the batsmen could shine for Mumbai Indians, skipper Rohit Sharma has put an unwanted record to his name.
In the previous editions, Rohit Sharma has crossed the 300-run mark every season. However, Rohit fell short of this record as his season ended with 286 runs.
Before Sunday, Rohit and Suresh Raina were the only two players to score more than 300 runs in all the editions. But as Rohit Sharma couldn’t cross 300 runs, Raina became the only player to score more than 300 runs in all 11 seasons.
